POSSUMS, BLICKS, RATS, AND ORNAMENTS!

Late one Sunday night, Heath saw, hunted a possum which he has been trying to get for ages.  He even has a trap but it won't go for it.
Shooting it was an option far more fun!

Rats in the belfry!

We have not just mice, but huge rats.

There is one in the roof somewhere which has very high decibel parties every single night.
So up the trap went...

so far he is still partying, and even eating the yummy peanut butter on the trap...

but still free!

His days are numbered........

There is probably noone in the whole world who thought this was funny, except me.

So, indulge me.

Oh well.... means I get to do more window shopping!

COMPANY

We have had a lot of guests since coming here, and love them all!

Neil and Isobel, Marilyns sister came to Sunday dinner.
Tracey and Iain (my sister and brother in law) live in Stirling, Scotland. Tracey has just spent three months here visiting, with two of their children Abigail and Blair.

Our dear friend, Clair,came and did some fruit tree pruning - he stayed the night in the Guest Cottage!

I did my very, very best to turn this picture the right way up! It is from my ipad, and somehow it won't configure to the computer.

Anyway, Clair and his wife, Philippa gave us this clock as a housewarming gift!

There have been a number of warm and friendly neighbours called!
Georgie and Derek, a few doors down,  brought blueberry muffins!

BAKING, PRESERVNG AND CHUTNEYS

I pretty much don't bake.

I'm just not good at it!   Believe me, I've tried, but only seem to be able to produce little rock cakes!~

So Heath, who has never baked in his life, decided to make choc chip cookies.

Wow, I'm going to keep him on!!!!
