GUESTS (AND TREE LIGHTS)

Heath decided to string these solar lights up the huge Oak tree.

You will see them when you come and stay for a night!

Dad, Marilyn and Ivy came again to stay... which we LOVED... as the Manderley Country Fete was on, on Saturday.

We invited Helene and Andrew to dinner Friday evening... it was her birthday the day before..

Next morning, Ivy tried out Heaths shoes.....

Dad and Heath decided Country Fetes weren't for them, so made the decision to go to Lake Forsythe and try out the new dinghy!

Much preparation...

This video is way out of order ... it was taken when Mike was installing power into the newly renovated garage!

(Hmmmm, not sure it is working??? Oh well, you can see a foot jiggling around!)

****************

So off we went to the Fete!
It was just a few k's down the road!

Well, looks like this blog is full to the brim, and they won't allow any more pictures to be added!
So I will have to start another blog to continue on from this one.
What a shame.... but will persevere and get it up and running asap...

Until then...

Take Care!
Caroline and Mike.

FINAL CHRISTCHURCH BOYS HIGH SCHOOL PRIZE GIVING

Heath won two prizes.
One for the Gateway Aviation Course and the other for Industrial Technology.

Waiting in the foyer with mates.

We were in the first row behind the students... and Heath!

Rupert got a prize too!

Saturday morning, Heath presented me with these!

They were what he won his technology prize for!

SO thrilled!!

MORE PEOPLE TIMES

Saturday morning, Mike and I went to the local (dump) refuse station .... we have trailer loads of garden cuttings every week almost!

(I always see things I want to take home, but Mike always says no... it's the same story every time!)

I think it is THE most beautiful refuse station in the whole world....
the views in the hills are breathtaking!

Matt and Julene!
Had been staying at Akaroa, so visited!
First the Little River Cafe

Then home!

*****************

We had afternoon tea on Sunday at the Wigram Airforce Museum... with (left to right)

Chris, Alison (Chris's landlady), Trish, Gary, Caroline, Mike, Cheryl.

*************************

I met Lesley and Michelle again... and Michelle has now had her daughter! Just over a month old..

I could have hugged her to bits.. so beautiful.... Madeleine!

And Michelle, Madeleine and Peter, who was sick and tired of playing ladies with us all! He wanted to be a BOY!!

(He had been soooo good for sooooo long! Now he wanted to play!)

CULVERDEN COUNTRY FETE

Marilyn and I went to the Culverden Country Fete.
It is three hours from where we now live!

Arriving

Our White Tie lunch from Caterers!
Delicious!

LABOUR WEEKEND

Dad, Marilyn and Ivy came to stay for the weekend. We had such a fabulous time!

Friday night we had a few out.

Saturday, we took a long drive around all the eastern bays. Picnicking en route!

Sossies for lunch at the Heritage Park!

Sunday night, Gillian and Bruce came to dinner.

Marilyn made her famous Tapas.

Possibly (probably)  my favourite meal of all meals!

Monday was the annual Flower Trail.

18 homes in the Little River vicinity opened their gardens for the public.

We only ended up going to FIVE!!!  We took far too long, enthralled and fascinated at each one... but five was good!

Random pics of things we saw and liked.....

Caught - this old vehicle peeking out of an overgrown shed!!!

A cute eco cottage you could hire and stay in...

with an eco toilet....
(we hope to emulate this for our cottage!)

With our purchases...
Dad bought me two Gooseberry bushes in memory of Mum... her Gooseberry pies will go on!!

************************************************

That afternoon, Dad and Heath did some target practice...

Evidence

Then Mike, Dad and Heath tried out Harry's chipper...

while Marilyn planted our new tomatoes
(and we spread blood and bone everywhere else!)

and I kept snapping more photos!
