BUSY JULY (WINTER TIME USED TO BE A SLOW SEASON)

Jono  and Abi came to stay for a couple of nights....

It was Jono's 17th birthday!

I cooked them a large breakfast (midday!)

Jono and Heath slept in the cottage.

Magnificent Magnolias beginning to bud.

Whoops!
Onion plant weeds have taken over almost the whole property!
One web site says you can harvest them and use them in cooking.

Oak Lawn area, after three floods is still mush

Leaving.

ahhhh, I LOVED having these three.....

Little tufts of paddock grass in a car which stays on the road?????

Nothing escapes Mum's beady eye (trained well by older brothers)

The new Mail box!

Everyone complains you can't find our driveway in the dark (and hey! I can't either!!),

so Mike made sure there were plenty of reflectors,

arranged artfully....

Good news!

The Man sat and obtained his

FULL licence!

Harry and Geoff visited!

LINING THE GARAGE

There is a very ancient single garage on the property.
We are converting it into another room, at this stage used as a room for my sewing etc.
Attached to the side is a wee tool shed.
It too is being revamped into Mikes man cave/workshop.
He will extend it a little behind the shed.

The before and during stages so far.....

(Boring photos for some, sorry! But these are for the record, and for the boys!)

Stuff stored in the garage until now.

Emptied, swept and ready to roll.

The Team arrived.
Date scones for morning tea.

New door and garage front
(Chris)

When not making toasties in the kitchen for lunch, he crawled into a tiny spot and did his thing on his ipod!

The batts in the roof and walls are about a foot thick!
Will at least be a cosy garage!

TOOL SHED ATTACHED ON THE SIDE

I LOVE the stone floor!

See the wee garden by the front entrance?

These flower plants will be in that garden.
Gorgeous colour and a few different varieties.
Planting this week!

Oh that Magnificent Magnolia again, a little more bloom now...

27th July, Hilltop Tavern for dinner.
Very pleasant surprise....
John Hore Grenell and his daughter were there entertaining.

Would you believe it?
We parked between 2 Priuses!
One owner came back... and we discovered he lives in Takamatua!
Had a looooong yarn in the supermarket car park!
Small world!
